I was so excited to get my hands on Dr Murads Environmental Shield Serums. Vitamin C is such a fab ingredient if used correctly. I wont lie it’s not for everyone and to be fair not everyone needs to use it.

To help you see if Vitamin C might help your skin concerns here is a list of its properties :-

During lock down I had a few weeks of continuous break outs, for my skin this was completely out of the ordinary as I do not suffer with breakouts at all. These weren’t any normal spots they were huge purple, painful under the skin bumps. Despite me allowing them to take their natural cycle and not poke or squeeze I was sill left with scarring. Once my skin started to calm down I introduced the Environmental Sheild Serum duo (Eye and face) to my AM skincare routine and here is what happened after 5 weeks of use.

Suitable for AM and PM use though I like to use Vitamin C in the AM only. Why you may ask? I like to use Niacinamide each day and you can’t layer Vitamin and Niacinamide together they neutralise each other and make one another utterly useless when used at the same time. So I use my Niacinamide in the evening. The Environmental Shield Serum is suitable for all skin types and has a beautiful plus effective duo formula. Glycolic acid resurfaces the skin to help make the vitamin c injection even more powerful. It has a lovey aromatic scent and instantly cools and soothes the skin. The product also sinks in immediately allowing for product layering and absolutely no pilling. So thoroughly enjoyable.

Some can find Vitamin C to be quite potent but this really is so soothing. Even recommended for sensitive skin types. So if you have put off using vitamin c because you are sensitive this may be your dream come true.

Gold-Stabilized Vitamin C

This ingredient delivers higher antioxidant defence against external aggressors. It is highly bioavailable (meaning the product targets the skin immediately on application for quick absorption and instant effect). It also allows for the potency of vitamin C in skin.

Gycolic Acid

Gently exfoliates away dead skin cells allowing for the reproduction of fresh skin cells making the skin surface brighter and glowy. This also enhances the Vitamin C delivery.

Phyto-Luminescent Extract

Transforms UV into a source of light that radiates directly from the skin. For a beautiful natural radiance. Glowing hunnay!

So my results. I am so impressed. My scarring has dramatically reduced in appearance. I wish I had produced before and after pictures now, because the results are really wowing over such a short period of time. My monsterous breakouts have also stopped. No more purple mountains on my face! I haven’t had a single one since I started using this serum. I would put this down to the pollution shield. Preventing my pores getting clogged and also the glycolic acid getting to work on dead, dull skin cells giving my skin that fresh faced feeling every day.

Now she is a spenny lady priced at £72. However, I have used 1 pump every day for 5 weeks and am only a fifth through the bottle. So that’s pretty good product to pounds there! I also think if you are ever to splurge on anything in a skincare routine it should be your serum! Price usually means a better quality of ingredient and more science behind its technology. A serum is also the foundation of your routine which usually concentrates on your biggest skin concerns.

Murad Environmental Shield Vita C Eyes Dark Circles Corrector

Vitamin C is important for the delicate eye area because it delivers enhanced antioxidant defense for brighter, healthier-looking skin. Suitable for all skin types this golden goddess is formulated to help with multiple types of circles around the eyes almost acting like a sheer concealer colour correcting dark circles: Blue/purple: Low micro-circulation and thin skin around the eyes increases visibility of unoxygenated blood (which is blue). Brown: Sun damage, irritation and genetics can result in hyperpigmentation. Red: Triggered by inflammation, irritation and allergies. Who knew thee was more than one type of dark circle because I didn’t?

So I didn’t think I would notice any difference with this as I didn’t think I had and under eye problems. I also thought eye products were a farce and something not really needed. Well how wrong was I! This serum has definitely brightened my under eye area, it has also helped with puffiness due to lack of sleep (something I do suffer massively with due to my Fibromyalgia). The colour of this serum is sheer gold and glowy, it does immediately awakens your eye area. Perfect under makeup or for fresh face. Because of its brightening properties I have been using in the AM only though it is suitable for AM and PM use. For £56 I think this is really great value. If you have dark circles I think you would reap even more benefit than I have.
