Recommended Moisturisers - My Current Favourites

Today let us talk about my current favourite and most recommended moisturisers. A product that exists in both our AM and PM routines and is the icing on the cake when it comes to skincare steps. Before SPF though obvs!!

Being an absolute product whore (someone that has loads of products open at once) I have a few moisturisers on the go right now but I have seen myself reaching for the moisturisers I am going to recommend to you in this blog the most. So, if you are looking for a new moisturiser or need a recommendation, I have 4 of my favoutites for you right here ENJOY! : -

Apothaka Comforting Moisturiser – A new product recently introduced into this award winning, indie brands range. I was shopping for a popular product of theirs (the nail and cuticle oil) and this moisturiser had recently been released along with the skin quenching lighter weight formula, so I thought I would give it a try. Let me tell you it feels like a comfort blanket for your skin. Absolutely beautiful! Its so light (despite being a heavier texture), gentle and soothing. I am finding it absolutely perfect for the British summer we are having this year (it’s been very hot here!). I also love that it is fast absorbing and leaves the skin feeling cool to touch. I have been enjoying this in both my morning and evening routines.

This moisturiser is rich in omega oils, colloidal oat and ceramides which are a perfect cocktail to hydrate and plump the skin. This moisturiser also has the benefit of skin barrier support, which is key to keeping the skin looking nourished, radiant and healthy. if you prefer something lighter weighted then give the skin quenching one a go instead.

RRP £24.00 50ml - Available from Apothaka Skincare

Transformulas Marine Miracle Cream – First of all let us talk about its very instagrammable sphere shaped packaging (dreamy!) On a serious note this cream is just beautiful! I do not often finish products because I use so many open at once, but I am enjoying this so much it is nearly gone. That is how you know I adore something. I can only describe this as being a cross between 2 other favourite and highly recommended moisturisers of mine. The Elemis marine cream and Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream. If you are a fan of those you will love this. It has a very thick rich buttery texture that instantly plumps and hydrates as it melts into the skin. It makes for a perfect foundation application giving the skin so much hydration and life it does not look dry or clumpy.

Key ingredients are Marine Algae, Sea Kelp, Vitamin C & E and Sea Salt. All of which are present to rejuvenate, create intensive skin cell renewal to keep the skin looking radiant and healthy, boost collagen production, give healing properties which are great for blemish and acne prone skin, hydrate and minimise fine lines and wrinkles.

Absolutely gorgeous with instant results. Perfect for both morning and evening routines.

RRP £69.00 50ml - Available from Transformulas and Feelunique

Jurlique Nutri Define Supreme Restorative Rich Cream – Another rich textured cream with a beautiful natural scent that also comes in a more lightweight version. Jurlique are trying to steer away from day and night creams and are creating formulas that would work for either depending on your skin and personal preferences. I really love this idea.

Due to my extensive collection I do however use this as a night cream. Its heavier textured so I love to slather a thick layer on after my retinol before bed and allow it to work its magic. It is totally suitable for day use too though especially if you have dry skin.

The skins buttery texture sinks into the skin to nourish and restore natural luminosity. The products formula is powered by an innovative Bioseme6 technology to help create a radiant complexion and to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Key ingredients are horse radish to help produce collagen production and Rose Galica. Lavender, Calendula and Marshmallow Root to promote a healthy-looking glow. This moisturiser leaves the skin looking dewy which is so beaut on no makeup days.

Out of all my recommendations here this one is a little dearer, but it does have a lot of science behind its ingredients and the brand which you can read more about in this blog post CLICK HERE. It also lasts ages due to only needing a small amount of product.

Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream – Are you even a beauty junkie if you do not have Fresh products I your beauty collection? That is the question I asked myself a few months back when I felt like the only person on earth who did not own any Fresh. John Lewis has a couple of gift sets on sale, so I picked some up. So happy I did as I have loved every single product so far.

This lightweight moisturiser is designed to provide 24hrs of moisture with its super 7 complex formula. I have used this in both my day and night routines and have been happy with how my skin has looked and felt.

Designed to hydrate, target first signs of ageing and give radiance it makes it the perfect moisturiser for all skin types.

Key ingredients are super lotus, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and starfruit.

I really enjoy this. Its just a lovely lightweight all round good moisturiser. Perfect on its own or layered with makeup.
