Best Sephora Collection Products: My Complete Guide
*This blog contains affiliated links and discount codes.*
I never go into Sephora planning to buy from Sephora Collection, and yet I always end up at that shelf. Over the last year I've worked my way through the skincare, makeup and tools, and a few things have stuck for good. These are the ones I still reach for.
Before you buy anything, use my Sephora UK discount code for 15% off. It works across most of the range and makes the prices even more reasonable.
Is Sephora Collection worth it?
Yes. It is affordable, but it does not feel cheap. The skincare is solid, the makeup does what it says, and the tools are far better than they need to be for the money. If you are building a kit on a budget, start here.
The best Sephora Collection products, ranked by category
Skincare
Radiance Gel Moisturizer
This is my weekday morning moisturiser. Eight months in and I'm still on my second jar, which is rare for me because I am terrible for abandoning products halfway through. It sinks in fast and leaves that soft healthy glow that makes makeup sit better. You get enough moisture without that coated feeling some gel creams leave behind. I use it on rushed mornings when I do not want to feel weighed down by product. The fragrance is mild and it does not clash with vitamin C or sunscreen. If your skin is very dry, this will probably feel too light in winter, try the Cica Recovery Cream instead. My gripe with the Radiance Gel is the pump, it can suddenly spit out more than you need.
Green Tea Antioxidant Serum
Most antioxidant serums either pill under sunscreen or leave that tacky layer you regret by lunchtime. This one does neither. I've used it almost daily for the past year and I am still on my first bottle, which tells you two things: it lasts well, and I have not been tempted to replace it with something pricier. It sinks in straight away with no pilling and no sticky residue. I notice the difference most when my skin is looking flat after long days in central London. The dropper sometimes lets in air, so I keep it upright now.
Cica Recovery Cream
This is what I reach for when my skin is having a moment, after I've overdone it with exfoliation, or when the London air has left my face feeling raw. It calms things down without sitting on the skin or making me feel greasy. I keep it in the bathroom for reactive days and I have repurchased it twice. When my face feels hot, tight, or generally annoyed with me, this is the one I use.
Makeup
Lip Stories Lipsticks
I wear "Rose Nude" almost every day, that is how much I rely on these. The formula is creamy without being slippery and it does not dry my lips out by midday. It gets through coffee and something small to eat without feathering everywhere. I keep two in my handbag, one in my desk drawer, and one in the bathroom because I know exactly what I am like when I misplace a lipstick I love. I mostly buy the everyday shades, but the reds and berries are good too. The only thing I would change is the packaging, it feels a bit cheap.
If you're looking for foundations, I've covered those in separate reviews.
Instant Chromatic Liquid Lipstick
If you want something with more impact, the Chromatic range is the one to look at. I have "Berry Bliss" and the pigment is intense, one swipe is enough. It is rare to get that kind of payoff without your lips feeling wrecked an hour later, but this one holds up well. I wore it to dinner recently and did not need to check it once. It is a bit much for daytime on me, so I keep it for evenings.
Foundation Drops
These are interesting, a liquid foundation in dropper form with a natural skin like finish. I use "Nude" for daytime things when I do not want to look obviously made up. The coverage is sheer to medium and easy to build, and it blends well with fingers or a brush. On my combination skin it gives me about six hours before I want powder. The shades run light. "Nude" is my exact match, but once you move past the fair to medium part of the range it gets trickier. The dropper is fiddly, so I start with half a dropper and build from there.
Tools
Complexion Perfection Brush Set
I've been using this set daily for over a year and the brushes still hold their shape and do not shed. The powder brush is the one I reach for most, it is soft, distributes product evenly, and feels balanced in the hand. For the cost of one high end brush, you get a full set that covers powder, blush, contour and eyes. I would buy this if you are starting from scratch or if you need a reliable second set. I have washed them again and again and they have kept their form, which is rare this cheap.
The Everything Sponge
This is my favourite makeup sponge, full stop. It is firm enough to blend properly but soft enough not to streak, and it does not drink half your foundation. I use it damp for foundation and dry for powder. I have had my current one for about six months and it is still going strong with regular washing. When it finally gives up, I just buy another and move on. I keep one in my kit and one in the bathroom. It does not last as long as a Beautyblender, but replacing it twice a year does not bother me.
