I am always careful with skincare that uses the word tight.

It sounds exciting, but it can also set expectations a little too high. I do not expect a serum to lift my face, sculpt my cheeks or replace treatments.

What I did want to know was whether Skin Design London Face Tight Serum could make my skin look smoother, more polished and better under moisturiser and makeup.

I tested it for four weeks, mostly under a simple moisturiser, and also compared how it felt against the Skin Design London Face Tight Crème.

Skin Design London Face Tight Serum is a lightweight luxury serum that made my skin look smoother, more refined and a little more polished during my four week test.

It did not lift my face or give me a facelift effect. I would not describe it that way.

What I noticed was a subtle smoothing effect, a slightly tighter feeling as it settled and a better looking base under moisturiser and makeup.

Why I tried it

My skin was looking a little tired when I started using this serum.

Not dry enough to need a very rich cream every day, but not as smooth as I wanted either. Makeup was catching on texture around my cheeks and forehead, and my skin looked a bit flat.

I would describe it as the lighter step in the Face Tight routine.

The serum is not as rich or comforting as the Face Tight Crème. It is more about the finish it gives before moisturiser, especially if your skin looks a little tired or uneven.

For me, the serum made most sense in the morning under SPF and makeup, or at night under a simple cream.

Texture and first impressions

The texture is lightweight and smooth.

It spreads easily and sinks in faster than the crème. It does not feel greasy or heavy, and I only needed a small amount for my face and neck.

As it settled, I noticed a slight tightening feel. Not uncomfortable, and not dramatic, but enough that I understood the product name.

I would call it a temporary smoothing feel rather than a lifting result.

The finish was polished, which made it a good base before moisturiser.

How I used it for four weeks

My usual routine was:

My four week test

Week 1

The first week was mainly about texture.

The serum felt smooth going on, and my skin looked slightly more polished once I applied moisturiser on top.

I did not see a big visible change after the first few uses, but I liked how it made my routine feel more refined.

By the second week, I started noticing that makeup sat better on days when I used the serum.

My base looked smoother around my cheeks and forehead, especially when I used a light moisturiser over it.
